Fulham secured a historic victory at Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day, defeating Chelsea 2-1 thanks to a pair of stunning late goals from substitutes Rodrigo Muniz and Harry Wilson. This marked Fulham’s first league win at Stamford Bridge in 45 years.
<span;>Chelsea had taken the lead through Cole Palmer’s impressive solo goal in the 16th minute. However, Marco Silva’s inspired substitutions proved decisive. Wilson headed home the equalizer in the 82nd minute, before Muniz sealed the deal with a composed finish deep into stoppage time.
<span;>This defeat dealt a significant blow to Chelsea’s title aspirations. They missed the opportunity to close the gap on league leaders Liverpool, who secured a 3-1 victory over Leicester City earlier in the day. Chelsea now trail Liverpool by seven points.
<span;>Meanwhile, Fulham climbed to eighth place in the table, just one point behind Newcastle United in the race for European qualification.
