Chidziva, who is married to the aunt of the teenager, is accused of luring the young girl with gifts and later engaging in repeated s3xual acts with her. The arrest followed a formal request from Jiti to the police on September 20, calling for action after the case was first opened late last month.

The victim’s family had initially filed a missing person report at Budiriro police station, claiming that Chidziva was hiding the teenager. Their concerns intensified, leading to the opening of a r@pe docket at Harare Central police station.

Chidziva is to appear in court on Wednesday for his initial hearing. Jiti confirmed, “The ZRP has informed me that they have apprehended Chidziva, and the case will proceed to court.”
